The pastern joint is the site of degenerative joint disease (high ringbone.) This is traditionally regarded as a low motion joint that has a limited amount of extension. The lower end of the cannon bone connects with the long pastern bone at the fetlock joint. The fetlock joint helps absorb shock. The next joint is is the joint where the long pastern bone connects with the short pastern bone.
The Pastern wrap may be beneficial for ringbone, osteoarthritis, fractures, navicular, coffin bone, long pastern bone and the short pastern bone.
